Well, as I said in last night’s blog, today I started 3 projects that I need to finish in time to send off before Christmas. So I guess my insomnia paid off though because I was able to draw up my plans, measure and mark all my wood last night which made cutting today go allot quicker.

So, today between baking pies and pumpkin bread, I managed to cut all my pieces to length, rip them to width, and miter the ends. Not bad for a days work.

Heres some pics/teasers…

1st pic: Here is all my project woods cut to length and riped to width. From left to right I have red oak (friends knife case), padauk (Mother’s trinket box), and walnut (step-father’s trinket box).
Cut and ready

2nd pic: This is dry assembled after I cut my miters.

So, not too bad a start. I’m feeling allot better about getting them done in time now. Heck, who knows, maybe tonight I’ll be able to sleep again!

Oh heck, you remind me I must get into the shop tomorrow to progress the oak keepsake / heritage box I started at the weekend. Today we spent at a massive craft show – mainly knitting & needlework – my wife’s interests. Sunday we’ll make the same 100 mile round trip to the North of England Woodworking Show in Harrogate. There’s a chance I’ll be spending!

Anyhow, that looks like a good start on three projects Sgt. Lobo & those mitres look spot-on.
