These are the doors. These, as well as two others…. Three Fir and one Mahogany. are now ripped down to uniform sizes. I think I will save the Panels for a Draws on a Future project.

I spent 4-hours ripping these Down on an old beat up table saw..(Still have all ten fingers). Just about have enough for the butcher block top. Can not make up my mind on what design to do. I really like the the way you can pu in the wood fillers on the “New Fangled” bench to put in table top tools vices Etc… but trying to keep it simple and not over think it. My most important Goal “IS TO FINISH IT”!!! I will throw in some Cambara strips to get a Nice contrast to the Fir.

I must say that using these old doors and seeing the grain was like finding a Treasure. it is such a Shame that these were headed for the Dump. As I grow in this art I will make it my mission to find and bring out the beauty of discarded Material.

Next I will decide on a Design and start essembling.

Reclaim away … half of the fun for me in using reclaimed lumber is taking the old paint off and dirt to see what kind of grain you uncover. Its a new gift each and everytime.
