I have been using this finish now for a few months and have really found it to be a great finish for furniture projects. Especially, if they are going to be subject to water. I started out putting it on a bathroom vanity top made of cypress. Beautiful color and depth was achieved with multiple coats and sanding between coats with 400 grit. Final coats we wet sanded. Do you have a gaggle of Kreg Step Drill bits in a drawer in your shop collecting dust? Well, I had several bits because when one would get dull, I would purchase another. What?......$17 or so? These set up bars are GREAT!!! They allow you to make easy and accurate measurements. I have a couple of photos to show you. The first is the brass set up bars in action. I used them to set up the spacing in this router jointing operation. 3/8” set up bar and a 1/2” router bit yields 1/16” off each side. Couldn’t be easier. I took a sharpening class at the Birmingham Woodcraft store a while back. I really didn’t know it then, but that class really has opened up my woodworking world. My projects are getting more involved and really more fun because I now have very sharp tools. If you have never had a sharpening class, you should make it your priority.
