Hello folks!
What a great welcoming committee you all have here. Thanks for all the messages.
I'm disabled and have free time to work on projects for the house. My wife and I have alot of children. We have 3 Golden Retrievers, a Golden/Great Pyrenees mix, a TN Walker, a miniture horse and a small donkey. We also have 2 birds and 2 cats along with 3 pygmy goats. Then we have our gardenss. 3 to be exact. So I stay pretty busy as it is. But my passion is wood working. My grandfather got me started in it when I was just a child as he also got me fishing when I was like 4 or 5. May God rest his soul. So I look forward to getting into this wonderful thing called wood working.
I worked in woods when I was younger for a short while. Wow so much has changed. I almost have my complete shop in the garage set up. A Steel City Table Saw, A Grizzley 16" Band Saw, a Dremel Scroll Saw, A Small craftsman table saw I use for dado, a Clark Drill Press (Floor Model), an older bench top drill press, a Porter-Cable router, a Hitachi Plunge router, a Craftsman Radial Arm saw, a Delta Sliding miter saw, and a Ryobi planer, a craftsman Belt/disk sander, a Bosche belt sander, a cheap Cummings Tool wood lathe and a scroll saw and a couple of finish sanders with a Shop Fox Dust collection system set up for all of the tools. I am about to get started working witht he wood again. I just finished setting up the dust collector and I'm very excited in starting to make some stuff. I am a big fan of staining as I use to finish and refinish products for an unpainted furniture store back in the late 70's. My first project will be a Sliding Cross Cut Sled and a few jigs. Also I'll be practicing with some woodburning as well. So any tips on wood burning or anything else would be great! I'm a Newbie or feel as I am so I may ask alot of stupid questions for a long time. Again thanks for all the welcoming messages!

Jerry

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.

God Bless

I would like to thank all that gave me some info on my tracking problem. I never knew about blade settings on the tires, off center.. The jig idea is cool also. The tension spring is not new like everything else, but there is still room for compression on the spring. Or do you guys (generic) think I should buy a new one or just tighten the old one more? When I do tighten the blade I don’t use the guide, I rather go by tension feel which is always more then the guide call’s for. Can I be over tightening the blade. I don’t have a problem ordering a new spring, I just thought it wasn’t necessary.
Thanks Again Joe Ro

Thanks folks. Suliman that worries me! Hehe… just kidding. It’s an ugly mug but the hair is a safety issue I deal with when working with any type of a power tool. I always have it in a pony tail. I tuck the beard away in my shirt when working in the garage or having a meal :-)
