Found this old “log” of rowan in our pile of branches and leaves and stuff
We moved in about 7 years ago and apparently it was here before us, didnt personally know about it, just saw it today by coincidence when i was looking for a good place to spalt some birch -.-

Its about 3½ feet long after i sawed off the rotten end

Got some deep cracks, but the 2 bigger ones go straight towards each other so more material saved

The rotten end of it, threw that back into the hole it came from :D

The hole i rug it out of, one end was down in the ground and rotted away, the other end was just surrounded mostly by branches and stuff, so after being there for what could be decades it isnt really rotten :D

A really old couple used to live in the house, the man used to be in the military, a couple years ago we found a few ammo crates under the stairs going down to the basement, that had been hidden behind a board -.-
