I am in the process of converting my 2 car garage to a hobby wood shop. Over the last month or so I have been buying my equipment and setting it up. Details of the equipment setup have been posted to my Blog. I am nearly done acquiring the equipment, I still need a bandsaw and a few other misc items. It is time now begin getting things organized by building cabinets, a work bench, etc. (I did build a quick “weekend workbench” without the drawers so that I have something to use until I build my “real” workbench.)

Hopefully I’ll have all of that done within the next month and I will post some pics of the completed shop.

I ordered these plans today from Tauton for their Tablesaw Outfeed Cabinet.
Looks like an ideal solution for an outfeed table with storage space.

That is a nice outfeed table. I wish I had room for something like that.

Look back no more, start making what you have in your mind. Do not let anything discourages you or diverts you off the direction you already set.
Good luck!

MY TIP:
My TS, Ridgid TS3650, is on wheels so I can move it around in my 2 car workshop…that has no cars inside.
I built my work bench, which sets in the center of my shop permanently, the same height as my TS saw and use it as my outfeed table.

John White’s ideas are always good and this is no exception. I don’t have room for an outfeed table, but I built my router cabinet to the same height and use that instead. It’s a practical solution and works well, but no storage space for tools except router stuff. Looking forward to seeing your workshop photos.

Nice setup David.

I am lucky enough to have the entire garage to use for my workshop. It’s around 24’ x 30’ so I have a nice amount of space. I just need to get the rest of the junk out of there so I can get things organized.
