Well don't I feel dumb

So when I first came out to Rockford, my parents showed me this huge flea indoor/outdoor flea market not too far from where we live, that was open every weekend, and I’ve found more than one hidden gem there. I’ve seen plenty of people selling all kinds of tools, in all kinds of conditions, althought it wasn’t until last summer that I really got into woodworking. Anyways, originally they had told me that it was only open spring/summer. Last time I went there were lots of great finds but I didn’t have money to get anything. I’ve been setting some money aside all winter looking forward to them opening up, thinking of all the tools I might be able to find.

Today, I just happen to be driving out that way on errands, and I see the parking lot is full. Are they open already, I hadn’t expected it until maybe March?

So I go in, and it turns out, the OUTDOOR section is closed in the winter and late fall. The INDOOR section is open year round (makes sense, I just never had any reason to question what my folks told me).

Wow I felt like such a dumbass.

Anyways, they were closing up so I only had a few minutes to look around, I saw one table with a bunch of brand new-looking Irwin handsaws marked at $5 each. Another table had a row of battered but solid looking Skilsaws that were just chanting “pick me! pick me!”. I’ll be going back tommorrow (hopefully) and see what I can score!

If I don’t find one down here in Peoria, I might head up to Rockford to check yours out. Do you know the address of the place?

no need to feel dumb for listening to your parents—that is what we are supposed to do! They just had the wrong information.
Good luck on your treasure hunt
