One of my favorites. I have built a lot of benches but this on is the cadillac of comfort. The frame is made of Ash and all mortis and tenon joinery. The seat is a 8/4 natural edge Oak slab ( at 5 feet long it takes at least two to move this beast). I dismantled another store bought bench just for the metal back. Unfinished at this time for a customer’s choice.

chairs and game board

I finished this one earlier this year as a ” just for fun” kinda project. The chairs are made form White Ash with seat boards salvaged from the local saw mill scrap pile. The table is also Ash and the top is reclaimed 8/4 hart pine joists taken for a 100 year old vacant home that was the hart of Cleveland. Last year alone there were 1500 homes in Cleveland scheduled to be torn down. If I only had a nickel for every sheet of plywood used to board up the homes in Cleveland I could retire. But since I don’t get a nickel I will will keep on using this fantastic wood to my benefit. The game board top was carved in with a router, finished it all in teak oil so it is suitable for indoor or out door use. The checkers are cut form Ash and Birch branches. Thanks for looking.

The elk bed

My first rustic project. It all started with one tree falling across the drive one morning. As I walked up to this fallen tree with all intent of adding it to my fire wood pile something clicked in my head. It was at that point I decided I always wanted a log bed. Little did I know ware this was about to take me. Now two years have passed and I have created my own rustic furniture and accessories company.
This bed is made from white ash logs and a hard maple natural edge slab for the headboard. The elk scene in the headboard was burned in with a little color added to bring it all to life (compliments of my dear friend and artiest Pat Sherman. The foot board is complimented with a set of shed elk antlers. Two inch tenons hold this sturdy bed together and to finish it off it is top coated with 4 coats of gloss polyurethane.
