Got this kit from Woodcraft. It is made with zebra wood.

Made this about a month ago. Sugar maple branch. I just wanted to turn something fun. About 6 inches high. The angle at the top is natural.

The white one is basswood about 4 inches and the 2nd one is mesquite and about 2 inches.

The first one is a long handled scoop that I was just messing around. The second is the oak spoon I blogged about yesterday.

The tools are the latest ones in my turning arsenal. Capn Eddie Castelin calls the the detailing duo. The round cutter is a 12mm carbide cutter.

This scoop is made out of a piece of scrap maple I had laying around. I turned the handle and carved the scoop.

I am thinking of making a video on how I do this.

Made this for my Mom for Christmas. The body is pecan and the wings are sugar maple. Inspiration from a Carl Jacobson youtube video. And it was fun to do. Have about 6 more to make.

The pen and pencil set were a gift for an aunt. The wood is oak. The canoe is a carving knife handle that I carved for a friend in New York. I thought outside the box on that one.

Made these for a special order for my supervisor. I figured out that wet sanding and plastic polish does an awesome job.

My work had asked me if I would be willing to donate some of my pens to their care and share program. I gladly said yes. These will sell for $10.00.

This is a lidded box that Jim Jakosh help me make. We had a great time doing this. I also have alot of sugar maple logs from our one and only tree in our yard that came down this past week.

Thanks to Jim Jakosh for giving me this drill bit. He also milled the depth stop for it. I turned the handle out of a piece of walnut I had laying around. This is my first tool handle that i turned for myself. I used the bit and stop to drill the hole for the bit. Used 5 minute epoxy to secure it. I plan on using this to help in boring a starter hole for my cups and bowls.

A slimline pen of Olive wood. I am making a bunch of these pens to sell to help with the rebuilding of our church.

I made 4 pens and one bottle stopper today. The Bolt Action pens are purple heart and the slimlines are oak and jarrah. I think the bug has got me bad.
