« Part 3: Final ok to begin work Part 4 of Game Board series Part 5: Boards are almost done »

Well, I was finally able to get to Woodcraft and start the milling og the boards. Thanks to Tearen, I have 2 curly maple, 1 walnut, and 1 oak. I have them glued up ready for the next step. I need to get them to a uniform thickness. I am going to use a belt sander to do this as I am low on funds and can’t afford to have someone else get them planed. I screwed up when I did the glue up, I did not use biscuits or dowels to line them up. (I was in a hurry. I only had 3 hours to get them all done).

Lessons I learned:

Have everything ready before you start.

Use dowels or biscuits or dowel to line things up.

Take the time to do things right.

Stay tuned for the continuing saga of the game boards.

Thanks for reading.
