Desk delayed

Well, as it goes in my world, the desk I was to start this weekend has been delayed for at least 2 weeks. No money for materials. Oh well, that will give me enough time to decide on a design. I am now leaning towards a basic desk with legs, as the wife wants bookcases as well in the library/office. She is wanting these bookcases to be made out of 2X material now (like my father’s bookshelves at his house).Oi Vay!! More work for me.

The library/office is in a holding pattern until I can get the wood to make everything as well as get the room painted. On the upside I was able to do some organizing in the shop today. I have gone through the closet and organized it. I was also able to burn some wood that I had laying around from an entertainment center I dismanteled 3 weeks ago.

I am planning on getting back in the shop this week to start Christmas gifts. I have a few candle center pieces to make and a few toys, as well as my wife’s lap desk and now, (along with everything else) a headboard for our bed.

I need to find time to get in the shop while I am going to school. It may help relieve my stress level.

I have enjoyed looking at everyone’s projects and blogs. I do feel bad because I haven’t been able to contribute much over the last month. I guess I am going through Lumber Jock withdrawl. Keep up the good work LJ’s.

Keep makin sawdust
