Well, it has been a few days since I have been in the shop. My school work has bogged me down. I am planning on getting into the shop this weekend. As I need to start building a desk for our new library room in our house. Thanks to Tearan, I have some beautiful veneer to use for the desk top. Hey Tearan, I am going to use Maple for the frame and an MDF substrate. It is still in the planning stages. Not sure how I want to do the legs though. Any thoughts? It is going to be a 2 part desk that will be set in a corner and have a computer or 2 on it. Well gotta get to bed I have a test tomorrow and a bigger test on Monday.

Are you going to stick with that Tamo veneer on the surface? As for the legs, it all depends on if you want to be able to put a chair anywhere under the surface. I might suggest adding storage under the main surface. You will need it for all your computer parts and school books. That way you can also have a piece of that veneer coming down the side.

For those of you who don’t know what Tamo looks like, here is a sample of what I gave Rustic.

now that you mention it that would be nice too. Then I wouldn’t have to edge it all the way around
