Sorry I haven’t posted in awhile but I have been busy trying to find a job and visiting with JockMike2. Not much shop time as of late.
Last week had a visit from a buddy in my woodworking guild. I showed him my set up and he then brought in his carving tool bag and we proceeded to carve for a bit. He showed me the finer points of sharpening my tool. Then we started on a project I had seen a video of called. The 5 minute wizard. He was very helpful and fun to hang with. He is also getting me more info on a carving guild in my area.

Back to JockMike2, It is nice to be able to visit Mike and have the quality of visits that we do. Right now we are working on a case for my Chapeau for the Knight’s of Columbus. We are making it out of Walnut and Beech. We have all the sides cut and are now working on the dadoes. I love the look that this is going to have. Sorry I don’t have pictures of it yet.

Mike is a very experienced and well rounded man and woodworker. I can’t sing his praises enough. He is my 1 true friend next to my lovely bride of 10 years.

I have also been carving more walnut baskets (gifts for CHRISTmas).

Well that is about it for now. Just wanted to post an update

My the peace of this CHRISTmas season enfold you all.

Rick

I’m still jealous….. I can only imagine how nice it must be to have a “Mike” in the area to work with. My two best friends are an electrician (and those guys are never right in the head;-)) and and HVAC guy. They both cock their heads like confused dogs when I start talking about woodworking.
