Last week was our 10th anniversary. We went to Sleeping bear Dunes in Honor, MI. While we were there we had a real bad wind storm that knocked down a basswood tree in the motel’s yard. (no damage to anything). Well I asked the manager if I could have a few pieces. This s what he gave me

Then we stopped at an antique sop and picked up this Stanley Baily #3 plane in excellent shape. Just needs some TLC

Paid 20 bucks for it. Now I just need to learn how to use it.
So all in all I’d say it was an awesome anniversary

Great gloat. Nice presents.

I’ll give you $25 for the Stanley-Bailey! ;)

Nice score on both accounts. Although I favor new electric tools, I find nothing more rewarding than taking a hand plane out when I can, and using it.

-- I've never seen a tree that I wouldn't like to repurpose into a project. I love the smell of wood in the morning - it smells like victory.

The wood is great and you got a great deal on the plane. Congratulations.

Great score on the plane. It looks in fairly decent condition. A No.3 is one that I’m missing in my small collection…hint..hint….
