Hey guys and gals,

Well today was a day to remember. First, off to the Dr. for yearly physical, (fun fun). Everything checked out ok. Then off to JockMike2’s shop, where I have a bowl in process on his lathe. I was there last week to start the bowl. Went today to work on it some more. Had a few checks that needed some serious filling. Then on to turning the inside of the bowl. When I left there today I walked out with my bowl in tow. It is a beautiful piece of maple with some spalting in it. When I started turning this bowl I did not know how wonderful it would turn out. The Mrs. is still in shock.

The bowl is 6 inches tall and 8 and a half inches wide
I will be finishing it and posting in the project section Enjoy!
All in all another GREAT DAY despite the rain.

Keep the sawdust on the floor and out of your food.

Rick

Cool bowls. I wish you guys were closer so that it would be a quick drive. I’d have to make it a mini vacation.

It was a beautiful piece of Maple. So many different colors, reds, blues, dark inclusions and that dark surprise inside really set it off. I wanted him to finish it here so I could see it, but he was so excited with his work he had to take it home. I don’t blame him I would have sold it if he would have left it. Nice job Rick. You are getting good, but you gotta stop knocking over everything in the shop!! And stomping on my clear 4 in hose and flattening it. It’s hard to get those bends out. Glad to have you come though and thanks for buying lunch. mike

That is a beautiful bowl, Rustic. You did a great job on that one and I bet that you learned a lot. Good work.
