I think the only thing holding me back from buying the Porter Cable PCB270TS table saw is the fact that it won’t fit in my car. I’ve been using the excuse that I am waiting for it to go on sale, but I’ve never seen a product so universally priced by literally everyone who sells it. I don’t think a sale is in the offing. However if it only went down by 25 bucks, that would pay for the truck rental to bring it home.

Anyone know where I can get one a bit cheaper in Kansas City?

I don’t know what the best price is in your area but the cost at lowes is $599. Lowes has a thing where if you say you’re planning on moving soon they will give you 10% off up to $5000 worth of merchandise. It’s a one shot thing. You can sign up for hit here.

At the bottom are the rules for it and it doesn’t specify any particular thing so I’d bet tools are okay. If they give you issues about it say that you need it to renovate and show them the paper that says it’s for anything. I used it to buy a shower enclosure awhile back. It would save you $60.

I’d have to go to a different Lowes, they know me too well at the one in my city.

Borrow/rent a trailer: easier to load/unload and cheaper than a truck.

It’s playing games but see if hd or lowes has the thing priced even a few cents cheaper. Then go to the higher priced one and ask for their price match guarantee which is to match the price plus 10% off. I did this with hd for my planer, lowes was 1 cent less and it saved me over 40.00.

I might be able to haul it home for you. Send me a p.m. and maybe we can match schedules…

4thumbs, It would be a bit of a drive for you though, I’m in Lees Summit. I could just rent the Lowes pickup. But thanks anyway. I need to make some room for that saw first. With my wife sleeping days because of working night shift, and our bedroom right over my workshop, the amount of noise I can make is limited. I need to get all that furniture moved out of the way so I can get to my drywall and finish up the outside of the rooms I made in the other part of my basement. I must have 40 8’ drywall panels down there, which is much more than I’ll need, plus I am already tripping on the remnants.
