As plans usually do, this one has changed. The wife didn’t care for the idea of the playhouse on the playset once she learned I was planning on making it house-like. “If you want a playhouse, build a playhouse.” Well, my idea was to build a playhouse and a playset combined. So, the playhouse has transformed into more of a fort, what you would usually find on a playset. In many ways this is good – it’s much easier to build! Below is the revised plan I drew up and a picture of how far I got this past weekend in building the walls. The boards nailed up in the front is to block kids from walking on deck until the railing is up.

It looks pretty good so far. I wanted to timberframe a playhouse for my kids, but at $1200 for the wood alone, the wife and I went with a prefab from lowes. Good luck with yours.
