The first woodworking memories I have are of my dad's creations - a couple framed pictures made from wood shavings and a lamp with wood trusses weaved around with fishing line. So, I tinkered in his shop a bit growing up and have taught myself by making a lot of mistakes along the way. I thing my first major project was a dresser\entertainment center I made out of wood pallets with saguaro "skeleton" accents. The construction was a bit shoddy and it ended up in the trash after I got married and moved into our first house. I still have all the saguaro pieces still though.
Most of my projects since then have been either "Honey-dos" or "I can build that instead of buying it" type projects with a couple fun projects thrown in. I would rather buy the tools to build it - and have them for the next project - than just buy it. I could probably convince my wife to do that more often if I actually had more time to build stuff.
Anyway, I'll post some pics of projects I've done in the past and try to remember to bring my camera into the "shop" more often on future projects.

In this pic you can see the timber walls are in, the posts are up and I’ve started laying the decks (ran out of deck screws that day so I started the bottom railings). It was a little shaky when standing on the deck until I installed the ra...
I’ve been planning this playset for nearly a year now and it is now finally in the making. I have built up some walls to level the play area using 6×6 PT timbers that were reclaimed from a school playground that was being renovated. S...
I have been starting a wood paneling project for the past couple months now (part of a larger reno project). It was originally going to be done in MDF (and was started) until my wife informed me that she wanted it stained to match some other buil...
