Some days ago I won 1st prize at an entry contest for World Skills. 16 of the best apprentice woodworkers from “østlandet” (the area around Oslo) attended and some of them are going to take their degree in some months. In Norway you go to school for 2 years and work as an apprentice for 2 years to get your master degree as a woodworker. Since I’m closing in on the end of my first year it felt really good to win this contest. Since I’m to old I wont be allowed to enter the next contest leading to World Skills.

Saturday I found an old dovetail plane at a car parts market that I will refurbish. 10 bucks, will post pictures later.

Congratulations, Rockers. It is good to hear about your success in the contest. And nice score on the plane, as well.

How about posting some pictures of your award? With the plane seeing pictures depicting the before and after comparison following the restoration are always well received.
