Another use for the New Yankee router table
I built my New Yankee router table about 10 years ago. I used some cherry as I had lots of it and wanted the table to look nice in the shop. I am working on a china cabinet (project details to follow). The cabinet is angled and the top has hardwood edges on the cherry ply. I needed to cut the molded edge with my plunge router and could not clamp it to my workbench and cut all three sides at once. I looked at my router table and all of a sudden it hits me – the fence is a clamp. As you can see from the pictures I clamped the top under the fence and added a filler in the back (same thickness as top) to make sure the fence (clamp) was level.
