Well I just researched via “tags” the book forums and there are a few on LJ’s…but they are mostly regarding skills books—-which makes sense for wood workers…
But recently I have been dreaming of building a boat…on a 5 year plan (if you look at my projects you will see I am not ready lol)...and so I have been getting lots of books at my local library…on boat building and other titles too…

Anybody can tell me how to use a small 14in band saw , I had mine for 3 years and I cannot follow a line with it so I use my jig saw and the band saw is sitting in the corner

I today discovered Cian Perez’s page, The Index of Fossil-Fuel-Friendly Woodworking Knowledge. This site is chock full of links and articles on using hand tools. A page is also available for power tools.
Cian has gathered information from numerous sources and archived them for our reference. If you need to know something about hand tools, from using them, to who makes them, this is the spot to start.

For those of you who believe that you do not have enough clamps, I found and posted free cam clamp plans here . Easy to make and cheap. most of it can be found in your spare stick bin.

UPDATE
After making over 10 I posted a few after I’ve used them all to clamp fret boards when you need a lot of claps and need a lot of pressure to make sure that the fret boards are clamped tightly so you have no gap anywhere.

I forgot to mention on the first part of this blog that I don’t have any pictures of construction on the bench. This was due partly to my camera crapping out on me and I really didn’t know this thing would turn out as good as it did. After completing the bench and seeing the results, I figured it would be a good idea to take pictures when I decided to do the table and share them with ya’ll. So, I bought a new camera.
