Break Time Is Coming to an end...

I have sat down three times this weekend to write this blog entry. Each time something has come up and instead of just leaving the window open I closed it down and went to take care of other things. I just got done mowing the yard and I am presently trying to cool down and re-hydrate. This should be a good time to get this done. At least nothing but maybe dinner will interrupt it.

I went out in the shop the other night to get a screwdriver and I started feeling the urge to get some wood in my hands. I have been thinking about woodworking more for the past few days. The only thing getting in my way is the relatively junky state of the garage and the organization that needs to get done. There are tools everywhere. Some have places, other do not. I think I am going to take a couple of Saturdays to get things in order and maybe things will be in a little better shape to get something done.

I have a couple of projects lines up that I need to get done. First is a server cabinet for my home server computer. That is one of the things that I have been able to get together while I have been on this woodworking hiatus. Then there are the night stands for our bedroom that my wife has been wanting for years. I know she has been waiting on them for at least four years. I think I will get them started and see if I cannot finish them for out anniversary this October. I also have the rocking horse that I need to get finished for the boys. I want to make some good templates for the parts so it will be easy to make more if I want to. Finally, I need to make a table/desk for our bedroom. Once the computer gear gets into the state that I want it in, we will need a place to do some work, and I am tired of it having to be in the living room.

I know, that is a lot on my plate, but I am not going to be in a terrible hurry about any of it. In fact, I am not sure that I will get to do all that much at all this fall. I am supposed to take a graduate class at work, and I know that is going to take a lot of my time. In fact, I am still debating whether or not to do it. We have always liked fall the best for traveling and entertaining. I would hate to give that up, but I guess since this class will help advance my career I should really go take it.

Well, I need to go. I am cooled down and my stomach is growling. Time to heat up some leftovers and kick back for the rest of the night. Hopefully tomorrow I will be able to clean up the bunk beds and post some pictures of the bunk beds. I need to get that done since people here are wanting to see them, and people at work are hounding me to see the,

Everyone have a safe and productive weekend,
Rob Hix

Rob,

Remember, life to be enjoyed. Eat when you are hungry, sleep when you are tired and make saw dust when the spirit moves you- the trees will wait.
