Well, in an effort to get these shelves done before the long awaited visit of my parents, I took off a little from work today and I went to finish the installation. No problem getting finished. While there, the homeowner approached me an we talked about adding more adjustable shelves to the unit. She feels she needs the shelves to handle all of the books she has. I am supposed to take care of the cost through the contractor. That should be no big deal. My main question in my head is whether I should charge the design change fee in with my quote for the eight shelves? After all, as far as I was concerned, I should have been done with these around the first of October. The additional shelves are changing my plans. I am definately going to put in the quote for construction and delivery of eight additional adjustable shelves by November 21. I am going to give myself plenty of time to make them. For that reason I am debating the addition of the change charge. What would you do?
Enough of that. The main project is done. Now all I have to do is cut off a couple of shelves (for some reason they do not fit), and fill the nail holes. I am going to get that done this weekend unless the hardwood floors are wet. So, hopefully pictures this weekend or at the latest next weekend. Who knows, maybe both.
Just thought I would update everyone. Have a great rest of the week. Now I can start working on some projects for LOML. One of them being spending more time with the kids. They really do grow up fast…
