have your son call every radio and tv station to notify them of his trip to the emergency room. I am sure they would be very willing to get in on such a big story. I am sure everyone on here would support you with calls to the hospital, news or whoever it takes. Me, my dad and my son are all vets. It would be so much better if we were welfare recipients, we would get much better care.

You need to be the squeaky wheel and don’t take no for an answer. I have delt with the VA here in Dallas and have had real good results except for one time. Federal law say that you can not be turned away from any hospital (public hospital) for treatment (that’s why this Obama care is so stupid, but that’s another blog).

If this was his appendix he would most likly be dead by now, once they go bad they don’t last long and they burst. That’s why when most doctors think you have appendicitis they will pull the appendix out quickly.

Bottom line it’s ok to make noise sometimes to get things going. And the more people you can get to make a stand with you the better.

Phil you are right, to a point. I have seen vets thrown out of the West LA VA ER for begging to see a doctor for their sickness. They even took his wheelchair from one and put him in a chair in the waiting room to stop his interfering with this RN reading the newspaper.
Be prepared to deal with some heartless people at the VA.
I still think your best bet is to get him on SS disability and SSI. Just take him to the nearest SS office and they will do the rest. I did this for my son and the hospitals and doctors love his insurance, and no premiums for him.
And if you have a good congressman, talk to him. These people know how to work the system. My congressman is head of the armed services committee, which helps alot. There is always some one in their office that knows which chain to yank.

It might be more helpful if we put the ON-TOPIC comments on Jim’s original thread.

He might be more likely to see them, there.

just a post to clear the air, since my last post was to complain about sending a druggie some money. I would like for everyone to send money to my need a new table saw fund. I also feel very sorry for anyone dealing with a drug problem but I would never ask them to bum money here.
