13 posts in 711 days Location: Columbia, Louisiana Not much to say, except that I love the indiginous woods that are found in North Louisiana. I like the american red gum mostly (satin walnut). I especially like the spalted versions of the different species that are here in Louisiana like the red & white oak, beech, hickory, black walnut, tupelo, sycamore, cypress, honey locust (North American mahogany) red alder and a few more I can't remember at this time. My friend Dr. Ken Sanderlin that I get the material from is an affectionado of spalted wood an he has alot of it on his 125 acre tree farm. The wood is re-cycled dead and dying trees form his tree farm. It is quarter-sawn, naturally air dried and further kiln dried right on site. Doc is the sawer and owner. All of the info can be found on the web-site and where to get it.

I offer my thanks to all that have commented on my work. That alone to me is worth more than gold. All of you here are great in your works and endeavors and I’m glreatful to find like minded people to associate with. I’ve worked with alot of different materials but wood has something that near to the heart and soul. Wood has been fashioned into many different items throughout the eons but the results is never tiring to me. Seeing other peoples work and ides only broadens the experience that only wood can give. It’s one of Gods’ greatest gifts to mankind.
