Tomorrow the Woodworking Show will open over at the Big Town Exhibition Hall in Mesquite, TX. Since I have the day off, I’m going to spend most of it there. I plan on doing a little write up on it with photos (if they let me take my camera in there).
One of the things I really like about the Woodworking Shows are the classes they give. I’m looking forward to seeing the one hour “Hand Tool Rodeo” class where they’ll be going the use and maintenance of the different types of hand planes. The other class I’m really interested in is “Cabinet Restoration”. This is something I need to do for my kitchen so it is very timely.
Of course there will be tons of vendors there. So far I’m only “planning” to buy some Rockler Bench Cookies but I also need a jointer. I’m keeping my eye on Craigslist for a used one but you never know when I’ll have a flare up of Tool Acquisition Syndrome.
Is there anything I should be keeping an eye open for while I’m there?

Rick, I hope to meet you there. I’m a gray-haired little (6’3”, 250#) old man in bib overalls and a red shirt.
