I have been working at The Elle Sharp Museum of Art and History as a 1800-1900 woodworker. We are currently working with early elementary kids from schools around the county and even as far as Detroit. We talk about what it was like on the marches and forests of Jacksonville (as it would be named during that time. I give the kids a change to try a double person saw, and a go at the shaving horse. I haven’t found one that doesn’t like it, once they try it. We also have a treadle lathe but the treadle doesn’t work yet. I get about 65 kids in 4 classes a day.

This spring is sure going fast. I am gathering tools and etc together, turning and sharpening them in preparation for this year’s class at Marc Adams School of Woodworking. This year I’m taking a course on craving for conservation and restoration of furniture. My fifth year at Marc’s.
Carving just seems to have hit a good nerve. I have done some simple, like repairing a broken off foot on a table. The let was fluted. I have done a very rough fan in pine. And a repair on a medieval chair that had it’s back broken.
