Apparently there is a bit of ice and such in the New England states, and Frank is unable to fly out of Newark.

They’re talking about a reschedule for later this month or some time in the middle of April.

sigh

Oh, well. Can’t argue with God!

We were at one of the wooworkers shows and Frank had a workbench set up just inside the front door. He had his workbench that he made with Purpleheart and maple there.

He was giving demo of handcut dovetails. My son was with me and he had him tighten up the bench vise as he was cutting with the saw. After his demo he autographed the dovetail pieces and gave it to him.

He promptly came home and decorated it all up with crayons.

So much for memobrilia.

Well at least postponed is better than canceled. Least it should occur, maybe later than you wanted.

Yea Karson, one man’s treasure is another’s crayon board.

I “bit” of ice?? I spent 3 hours digging out of over a foot of snow and that is central Mass. They got more north of us. So much for working in the shop today. The cold weather is back!

I quickly shoveled 8-10 inches of powder last night, had at least another 12” but this time heavy and crusted over with freezing rain this morning. Was over my knees after the plow came by. ;<
A shop day lost here too.

gonna try to make up for a little lost time tonight!

I saw Frank Klausz’s video on cutting dovetails and he is amazing and can definitely make the argument that he can cut them faster than they can be routed(He includes the time it takes to setup and fine tune the router to make accurate dovetails). I’m glad that he will return and I hope you’ll be able to see him, then.

Rescheduled already!

March 31st and April 1st – just two weeks away. And that is even a little better, actually, because Dana will be out of town that weekend.

I’m still stoked.

No shoveling here today either, I got to run around the yard like a crazy person playing with my daughter in/on the crusted over snow! Can’t do that in CA. ;)

Glad to hear your class wasn’t postponed too much Ethan.

I found your site last night after putting Frrank Klausz name in the google search. I know how dissapointed you are at the postponement of the class. FEAR NOT YE WORKERS OF THE NAUGHTY PINE! Frank was here this weekend at the St. Louis Woodworkers Guild, and it was a wonderful class. Our event was also postponded as he was due to fly out for us the day the snow hit the Northeast. I will suggest that you bring seat cushions if you have the metal folding chairs to sit on. He was graceous to pose for photos and sign book and magazine copies. I hope your event goes as well as ours did. Jon

Yes, I’m wondering how EyePhoto didn’t see me! I like to think I stand out in a crowd!

For instance… How do you miss this?

I’ll try to start writing up something pretty shortly, fellow LJs. This will probably do double-duty, however, as our guild president asked me to do a write-up on the weekend for our next newsletter in place of his normal President’s Report

All right Ethan, another LJ t-shirt picture with a mentor. Maybe we need to make you our spokesperson or something?

I can’t wait to hear the rest of the story…
