Our 4 kids all got their own Kindle’s for Christmas (when Amazon wants to sell them for $49.00 bucks, buy 5 get 1 free, you pounce!). The cords going all over the place instantly annoyed me, so I knew I needed to build something to tame the beasts!
So, I did a little work in sketchup and came up with this:
So I brought (begged) my 8 year old daughter to come out in the shop and help old dad build it. She mostly stood around and talked a lot, sometimes even about what we were doing. She drilled a couple pocket holes and seemed to enjoy that. I didn’t take many good photo’s cause I was building this out of scrap plywood and putting some simply iron on veneer.
I know this thing will end up hitting the floor. Probably several times before it finally dies. The joints are less than stellar and it looks ugly, but it will be INSANELY functional, and that’s what I was shooting for. Now that this is out of the way, it’s time to get back to the great shop reorganization of 2016 (started in 2015, might be finished by 2017).

Ha, I actually got the idea from a rolling, locking cabinet my kids school uses for their Chromebook’s to be stored/charged in.
