This is my latest ongoing project. It was built in 1922, currently it has no electricity, running water or heat. It’s approximately 3000 sq feet including the basement sitting on 4 acres. We purchased the property for 17000.00 and are holding services every Sunday morning. My wife is the pastor and we have a small congregation. Ceilings are 20 foot and the acoustics are amazing. We are picking up pews next week. I found church who is replacing there pews with chairs so they have 33 15ft solid oak pews to give away. Our plan is to get as many of the pews as possible. We don’t need all 33 but just think of the possibilities that the wood from the pews could be put to. We hope to have power in the next few weeks with water to follow shortly after. Currently we are using a generator to provide power. We will be replacing all the electrical as the electrical that was there was the old two wire and poste type. I will post more pictures of the inside and as restoration continues.
Thanks for looking and God Bless
Update we now have pews, power 200 amp, so far I have run about 1500 ft of wire, 400 ft of speaker wire, 400 ft of microphone cable, 100 ft of HDMI cable, and 200 ft ethernet cable. We also now have running water, a septic, heat, new bathroom, sound and video system, new cross, new stair case. The stairs have an interesing stroy to them. I was in the basement getting frustrated, and I asked for devine guidance and said I believe in him. He answered with John 3-36, I looked it up and saw that it was conformation of what I had just said, that I believe in him, but nothing really on how to build the stairs. I heard it over and over a gain and then it came to me 36 degrees was angle for the stair, but what was the 3 for, well afer pondering that for some time I discovered that 3 goes into 36, 12 times, if I drop a plum line from the floor where the stars start and measure 12 feet from that spot and make a mark, connecting the 12 ft mark on the floor with the place where I dropped my plumb line it was exactly 36 degrees. We are now holding regualr sunday services, it is still a work in progress, I will be builing new windows, a kitchen in the basement, basement bathroom, with a flush up toilet. This continues to be a labor of love and i give all the credit to my saviour Jesus Christ for with out him none of this would have been possible. Pictures out of order, the cross is back lit and with the burgendy wall behind it when it is lit it almost appears as if it is on fire. The stairs I was quoted 5000.00$ to build, however i did it for less than 2500.00$ and that included a 4 ft wall upstairs, drywall and insulaton, paint and electrical and a new Ridgid Impact driver and all materials.
