The Raker is having trouble using circular scroll saw blades with his Hegner saw. They break about an inch above the lower blade holder or they come out of the upper holder. Am I the only one having these problems? Tell me what to do I’ve got several projects to finish before gold season starts-I’m using Jeff Zaffinos patterns they are very complicated.

Raker it has been my experience that blades that break before they are worn out is a result of your blade being over tensioned. As you clamp and unclamp the blade holder the screw will stretch. A screw in this condition won’t hold the blade in the clamp. Remove the screw and see it this is not the case. If it is then replace with a new screw.

Thanks for getting back to me Terry-I’m a little late getting back to you-snows about every other day. I did take my blade holders apart, sand the ends of the set screws then cleaned them with laquer thinner-things are better. Once agan thanks-Raker
