My first craigslist deal! I found a furniture store selling 400 wood sample pieces for 10 cents each. I took $30 with me, planning to deal for the whole lot if I liked the look of things. As it turns out, there was well over 1,000 sample pieces of solid domestic and exotic woods!

(Notice the quarter for size reference in the last picture)

This may seem like a strange deal for some of the cabinet makers out there, but this is literally a gold mine for me. The work I do is almost exclusively of the scroll saw variety. I am quite confident that I have enough here to last at least ten years for small projects!!!!!

Now that’s a WINNER!!!!!

I see it as an excuse to buy a Jet lathe and start cranking out pens for Christmas ;)

I wish that store was in my neck of the woods. I’d rake at least that much from them too. I have images of segmented turning blanks running through my mind.
