As you may have missed the announcement, two of our valued Lumberjocks Patti and Dennis Zongker have gotten engaged. The other shoe to drop is that Dennis, who first broke his foot subsequently tore up his back and has been significantly hobbled by pain. It’s been going on for a bit now, although I can testify from experience that it probably seems like forever for him as he is unable to stand or sit for more than about five minutes at a time.
So, here’s my hope. If you are of the mind that prayer helps, would you please join me in praying for Dennis’ return to health and resolution of his pain. If you have a different conception of things metaphysical, please send some good thoughts and wishes Dennis’ way. I hate to see his enormous talent and skill benched to this injury, and how do you expect this fine man to get hitched if he can’t stand in one place long enough…
Congrats Dennis and Patti. May you have a long and healthy life together, starting as soon as possible!

My hopes and prayers are with you both, but I pray that God eases your suffering Dennis, I know too well the agony you are enduring, just follow the Dr. advice and stay ahead of the pain with the meds. It took be a long time to get that through my thick scull. And lay down when it hurts or whatever you have to do. God Bless you both, have a long and happy life together, it can be done, Dick Cain and Barb are a good example and my wife and I just celebrated our 36th year of married bliss and I mean that. I don’t know what I would have done without her since I hurt my back. You can still work, you just have to slow down… Best wishes, Mike

Thank you Douglas…. what you and everyone on LJ’s is doing for Dennis is very much appreciated. Thanks goes out to each and everyone of you. Even just saying thanks is not enough to express how Dennis and I are feeling right now. God Bless each and everyone of you for your support.

Congratulations to both Patti and Dennis! I wish you both a lovely engagement period, followed by many years of happy marriage. I’m saddend to hear of your, present physical state Dennis. Sounds like jockmike2 has some sound advice as to how to help deal with the physical aspect of the pain! I’ll have you both in my prayers, hoping that you’ll recieve some relief from the pain Dennis, and that both of you, will enjoy a very loving and lasting future together as man and wife. May God bless you both!
Sincerely,
Ken McGinnis

Wow, I’ve lived with a lousy back (2 hearniated disks) since I was a youngster (lets just say I’m a bit older now)....I can speak from experience that back pain is hell. You are in my thoughts Dennis…I wish you the quickest of recoveries….and a hearty congrats on the upcoming nuptials.
And thank you Douglas for bringing this to our attention. I think of this place like a mini home away from home with all the folks that enjoy the same hobby that I love so much….I hope our good wishes and prayers do the trick.
