My wife and I had out 6th wedding anniversary at the end of August. The Traditional gift is Iron, modern gift is Wood. Lucky for her, that is two of my favorite hobbies! I decided to make her a Weather Station from Woodcraft. I was going to make it out of a Redbud Tree cut down from my parents place. Unfortunately my hand was broken at the time of our anniversary, so, fast forward until today. I cut the lumber from the firewood pile with an axe, hatchet, and two sledge hammers, I could not get my chainsaw to cut the lumber like I wanted it. I decided that it would be a good idea to dry the wood in my smoker. I thought that it would be a good idea, but the fire got too big when I was not looking and pretty well turned everything into charcoal. I am extremely frustrated! She is OK with what happened. I am very lucky to have a wife that understands that I am not gifted at woodwork. I told her that she could go to Woodcraft and pick any kind of lumber that she wants it made out of. I hope that I can scrape the char off of the outside of the Redbud. Man it stinks to have a hobby that you are not great at! Oh Yeah, BOOMER SOONER!!!

Now see if you would have started out with charcoal you would have had ended up with a clock instead. LOL Fortunately you live in a state with plenty of Redbud trees. Let me know if you need some seed pods to grow another tree. LOL
Hope you heal fast we need our linemen here. Take care hope you have a better Anniversary next year.

I learn the best from my mistakes. Happy anniversary (+ three weeks), hope your hand is back to normal.
Does this mean she has one “burned dinner pass” at your house. LoL
