Cutting down oak tree for future furniture
I had to tie a set of rope blocks to the top of the tree and anchor the other end to a live tree and pull with a truck, and push with the tractor to make the tree finally fall. The tree is about 30ft. tall and 34in. in diameter at the base. This tree died by a lightning strike in 2008. I recently purchased a granberg 36in. Alaskan mill and plan to purchase a Stihl 660 chainsaw with a 36in. Bar. A few jocks have given me some great advise to get started. Please enjoy the video, if anybody has any suggestions about milling, what length, thickness, maximizing my cuts for the most amount of lumber. I would welcome and appreciate the advise.
