Is it me or did anyone else have trouble finding a good saing that noone else had. I think I spent three hours looking for a good solid singature. Should it be funny, does it have to be about woodworking, does it need to be witty??? What makes you take notice to someones signature?

moods come and go for me. I’ll probably get tired of mine at some point and change it to something else that seems profound at the moment. 6 months down the road I’ll have another epiphany and re-think the new one as well.

I see that you are currently in Jville, spent lots of time there in the 80s. would you happen to be a young Marine?

I’m not a Marine but in the Navy, I noticed your 0311 in your name. You should see lejeune and Jacksonville now. From what I understand it has quaddruppled in the last ten years. Its Lejeune now pronounced in a french accent with rolling rrrs. Its confusing but the family made a big deal a year or two ago about it. I noticed your 0311 in your name. Thank you for what you have done, and your right there is a whole lot of experiance on this site and some really great advice.

I’m with hoosier, it depends on the mood I am in and if a saying grabs me.
I keep a notepad document with sayings that I have seen over the years that I like and occasionally put one of those in my sig. Sometimes I take one and modify it to fit me also.
BTW, I peruse several forums of interest so there is a fair amount of fodder to use for signatures.

For a while I was tired of an old signature, but I wasn’t sure what to change it to. So for a few weeks or so my signature actually read, “I should really get a new signature.”

This is why I could never get a tattoo. Not because of some moral objection, it’s just that the things I think are super cool and profound are subject to change at a moment’s notice.

If you can’t find one, then don’t post one. It has to be something you like, that reflects you, or your goals. Anyone who has any rules or suggestions other than that is spending too much time playing this game…and on that I will end.

I see nothing wrong with your current signature. It says a lot about you.

Mine is just something I’ve said for years, .... so it was a no-brainer.

I saw a cool one at a metal working site, but it was a bumper sticker-

“Driver only carries $20 worth of ammunition”. Gets him pulled over a lot in a felony stop scenario, I bet.

I don’t have bumper stickers; I drive on the road a lot, and there’s no telling what’s going to set off the rage. I don’t use sigs as much for the same reason, but at least if someone gets mad on the intertubes, he’s only going to threaten you and be “e-tough”. I have a lot more than $20 worth of ammunition btw, LOL.

My sig is an exchange I had with my 3 year old son when he came out in my shop and saw all the sawdust and shavings everywhere. He says funny things a lot, so he may come up with a new sig for me someday soon.

After looking at mine, I think I should change it.

The one you have up now is nice but too philisophical.
I got mine from an article about a new small shoe maker. Since everything I do is custom, it fits my situation perfectly.
Keep on looking, you’ll find something. Ask the wifey. Women can usually come up with something clever!
