I have many woodworkers in my family, but never really got involved with it personally until my father in law which used to be a carpenter came to visit and built my wife and I a custom bed and some cabinets. I started helping him out, and finally got hooked on it myself, and have been taking upon myself to make anything we need, or anything I can - myself. Not only does it allow me to create, but it also provide us with custom builds, which you can't really find anywhere else. With a baby daughter joining our family, woodworking projects are lining up in the back burner and are awaiting to come out to life....
