I am 62 years old and starting to think about retirement so want to take up woodworking as a hobby in the spare time that I will soon have. I have done a fair amount of carpentry work in my life, I built my garage (24'x28'), built my porch and dog houses etc. I just built 3 arbors/wedding arches for my granddaughters wedding and my daughter will use one in her wedding ceremony as well. So I do have some skills. However that is not the same as build bookcases, or furniture, stereo speaker cabinets and such. I have been reading through Lumberjocks and enjoy members posts, analysis and information so I figure this is a good resource for me. I will be posting numerous questions as I am new to this.

Thanks,

Dave

Hi all, I am new to this website and pretty new to woodworking. I have done some carpentry work, but not what I would consider wood working. I want to buy a table saw to start with. I have cut lumber on a table saw, but never adjusted or fine tuned one. I want to start with a used saw and have been looking on Craigslist at several. I would appreciate any advice that will help me get started. These are the 3 that I am considering:

1 https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/tls/6559691672.html

2 https://seattle.craigslist.org/tac/tls/6568277061.html

3 https://seattle.craigslist.org/tac/tls/6568277061.html

Hopefully you can open theses links, I am not the most computer literate person either!

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Dave
