We began building the cabinet by constructing a carcase from half inch birch plywood. Daddy ripped the plywood to width on the table saw, then to length with his festool track saw. We had to double the plywood to meet the one inch thickness required. We glued it and held it in place with clamps,

before securing it with a nail gun.

We thought it would be better to paint the interior before putting the cherry frame on, so the paint would not get on the cherry frame.

Here is a picture of the finished carcase with the interior cherry frame.
