Hello friends! Any body out there have an old, ugly, dead riding lawnmower that wouldn’t miss it’s transmission ? I just got back from Ace salvage (local junk yard) and didn’t find a single riding mower transmission that hadn’t rusted away or been smashed to unrecognizable metal mass. If you have one and are willing to part with it, I would gladly pay freight and for your time for sending it my way. Let me know if you know of such a critter that might be available. Meanwhile I’ll keep looking. There are replacement parts houses willing to sell old rehabbed transmissions at nearly the cost of a complete mower, but that takes all the fun out of it ! I really like old monkey wards parts and some inexpensive sears parts from real early craftsman mowers. I’m sure one will turn up sooner or later. I have yet to drive the backroads of Gadsden County to look along side dirt roads , where I found my first one . Thanks for your ear. Keep creating my friends ! I am almost finished with my kitchen remodel and will get back to serious shop work soon.
Thank you , your north florida friend, don schneider
