Hi Everyone,

I am very new at this woodworking craft and I am presently trying to decide on a planer myself. So far my conclusions regarding the DeWalt which had been my first choice is it is now at the bottom of the pile. The following is what I have interpreting from the considerable number of reviews I read, most of which were bad. I suspect some were the result of improper use, more seemed to be because of poor quality control at the factory. I came to the same conclusion from the Delta 22-580 reviews, but not to the same degree. There were far more good reviews. In my opinion and zero experience it seems the Makita 2012 ND had the most positive reviews and fewest negative reviews. Also, I didn’t get the felling that their quality control was dropping the ball. The problem I personally have with the Makita is that I can’t find a local supplier. I would really appreciate some feedback from you experienced woodworkers. Thanks and have a great day.
