« Part 2: When will Janae get started on her project. Part 3 of 2011 School Competition Projects. series no next part

I am posting updates on the kids Projects from last year. When we got to crunch time I stopped updating the blog. They both placed at regional’s so we went right back in to the shop to refine the projects for internationals. At Janae placed 1st in Clay Sculpture and 3rd in woodworking. Jordan placed 10th in woodworking. We had a great time at internationals but the highlight of the trip was that Charles Neil invited us to stop by his shop which was only 20 minutes from where we were staying. They let us checkout the kids projects for the day and take them to show Charles. That was a great honor for them. The process Janae used for cutting out her bracket feet she learned from watching his videos. http://www.cn-woodworking.com/waggoner-visit/

On the way home Frank and Liz Byers invited us to stop by the Woodcraft headquarters and we had a great time with them. Frank did a nice post about it on him blog. http://blog.woodcraft.com/?p=12110

It has been a great year and I am finial try to get the post up for the completion of their project up from last year but we are now just a little over a week from regional’s again and Jalen is working every night to finish his chair before the deadline. As of tonight he has 95 hrs. in his project.
