Hello All,

I have an acquaintance who has done some large favors for me over the last couple of years. I was compelled to recompense him somehow, eventually insisting he let me make for him the woodshop project of his choice. After powwowing with his wife, they came back with three choices of an end table, and this is the one i decided to make:

A cool thing about the build is that my friend brought a batch of old cherry timbers that were cut and milled from his father’s woods back in the mid ‘70’s. Should be good and stable! Included in the stack were some 3X3’s from which I could turn the legs.

Here’s the joinery dry-fitted:

And here are the raised panels and drawer front in place:

I made a video series of the build. The intro kicks off with a shot of the ice volcano that is 1 mile from my house. it has gotten famous this winter when photos of it went viral and next thing you know the Today show has a crew out there filming and everyone form Scott Pelley to the BBC were reporting on it! Lots of excitement for a town of 400 residents.

Anyway, here is a link for the videos of what I have finished so far. Had a major setback my last session in the shop. The curses were edited out, but the end results left in. I’ve had time to cool off since.
