I have about 300 bf of cedar and want to make some outdoor furn. What would be a good finish to put on it that will stand up outside? I think i read somewhere that you can not use oil based finishs on cedar. Has any one got some experience with this. Bob

I like oil on Cedar. No problems here. I used Cabot’s Australian Timber Oil on this gate. It gets lots of sun and rain on Maui. You’ll have to reapply every year or two though.
