I am married to my wonderful wife Jacquie. Have 2 kids, Cody and Britta. I retired from the Air Force after 22 years. I got interested in woodworking ( about 16 years ago) when I saw a scroll saw pattern and thought it looked like fun. I wouldn't describe my first several projects as fun, but it grew on me and with a little reading and a lot of practice I finally figured it out. After that, I convinced my young and very gullible wife that with a few tools I could build her a curio cabinet. I am happy to say that she has many of my projects in the house. I am ashamed to say none are a curio cabinet. Now, when I say i could build that with the right tools, she just rolls her eyes at me. One day I will surprise her with one. Retirement shadow boxes keep me busy lately. I have visited LJ's quite a bit lately and finally decided to join. I love looking at all of the projects that are posted and the help that everyone is willing to give is great. I look forward to being a part of this!

Hey, Paul,
Welcome to LJ’s. Like you, I recently joined and am fast becoming addicted. You posted on my site for my coffee table and commented that you hadn’t seen that kind of wood in ND. Well, if you go back to the coffee table I posted, I’ve since put a picture of me harvesting some of the wood in the Badlands (back when I was young, foolish, and not as safety minded with a chainsaw as I am now).
