I'm 58....been making furniture for the home and gifts for 30 years or so. My dad and I have a non-commercial circular sawmill that provides all the hardwood we need for our habits. My shop is half of a two car garage, walled off, and well insulated; 11 x 24. I have all the normal stuff to get from rough sawn lumber to finished project. I recently picked up a used lathe and am looking forward to making something that is not flat and square. I would also like to try some veneering and steam bending projects. Like a lot of folks my age, I plan to use my hobby to supplement my retirement income in a few years. My wife is an avid quilter/seamstress/machine embroidry-er, and appreciates the value of good tools. I'm a lucky guy.

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.

God Bless
