Near the water
but still in the woods, RI
United States

I don’t have much of a shop right now. I’ve inherited some workbenches in the basement of my house, which of course shares space with the laundry.

I’ve done most of my work outside in or beside my shed. The shed is slated for demolition pretty soon, so more on that soon (and any projects from the salvage!)

I’m really interested in pretty minimal woodworking, so all human powered tools (ok maybe not all…) I’ve mostly been working with hatchet and chisels and knife. I’ve also cleaned up an old transitional plane with a cambered iron. I’ve inherited a bunch of my dad’s old tools as well, but haven’t gotten into them as much. A few old Stanley planes, a bit and brace. I am still struggling with saws a bit, as i’ve collected a few older ones, but they’re all dull as anything, but that’ll have to be a project on the list.

A bench, a few tools, and desire is all you really need. There’s just no other way to be. Welcome.
