Currently I work in half of a 21’x21’ garage and take over the whole garage when the extra space is needed. When we lived on a farm outside of town I had a 24×24 dedicated shop building with a storage loft. Definitely miss the dedicated shop, but times and circumstances change. Just glad to have the space I do.

Shop setup:
2 workbenches – one primarily for woodworking and one for auto/metal working.
Rolling storage cabinet with a Ryobi BT3000 tablesaw and custom router table mounted on it.
Shop built mitre saw stand w/ Ryobi 10” mitre saw.
Rolling storage cabinet / outfeed table for table saw.
Rolling storage cabinet with 4 inch Craftsman jointer, 8” Skill drill-press and 6” Craftsman bench grinder mounted on it.
Rolling lumber storage cart (latest project)
Craftsman 12” band saw
2 shop vacs
Lots of hand, power and pneumatic tools.

Past Projects:
sofa table
coffee table
office desk
too many bookshelves to remember for various family members
all of the aforementioned workbenches and shop cabinets
kitchen cabinets
several entertainment centers
more crown moulding than I want to remember.
Did I mention that I used to be a professional trim carpenter?

Future Projects: (currently in design stage, I’m learning to use Sketchup)
Morris Chair with ottoman
Morris inspired couch and loveseat to match the chair
Craftsman inspired computer desk

Mike, your shop certainly sounds interesting. I will second Splinterman’s request for pictures. How about posting some when you get a chance? Tours of other shops are always fun to see.

Great looking shop Mike! Looks like a nice Craftsman band saw and is that a Ryobi BT3000 table saw?
Thanks for posting pics.

It’s a bit cramped when the wife’s car is in the garage, but not bad when I take over the whole thing. That is a Ryobi BT3000. I built the mobile storage base and mounted the saw on it with a router table at the end. Works pretty well, another of my mobile cabinets is the same height to use as an outfeed table. The old Craftsman Band saw has been around for a long time. I need to do a tune up on it this fall.
