I am a woodworking wanna be. I don’t have many tools yet. I have a minimal number of mostly inexpensive tools. My most recent projects have been gifts for grandchildren. I built a Thomas the Train table for my oldest grandson two years ago. I am currently working on a pirate ship sandbox for my younger grandson. It is going ot be his birthday present in March. I drew up my own plans. I have the frame made and am working on the siding. I was somewhat ambitious. It will be 4 ft wide at the rear and 7-1/2 ft long. It is 15” tall for the main ship and has rasied section in the prow that is 30” tall. I’m not very experienced, so I have been learning as I go. I’ve already figured out things I would do differently. I guess that is typical.

Here’s one thing I caught in time: I originally was making the front 36” tall. I am building it in my basement workshop. Just before I started, I checked and found the basement door is only 32” wide. Good catch, huh? Plans were quickly modified after that.

I’ll take pictures and post them as I go along
