Workbench 101
Over the past several years I have been needing and wanting to buy or maybe just make a workbench. I have gone to five woodworking shows in three states over the past two years. At these shows and in several magazines or catalogs I have noticed ...

How could you tell I was off today Don? All the posting I have done? Earlier today I was waiting for my local woodworking club meeting and it was raining. Plus I do work weekends......well enough of that.
I leave the computer on. I have had a kidney transplant and these drugs I take for anti-rejection keep my sleep pattern way out of whack. One is liable to see me on here about any time of day or night that I am not actually at work.
Good working to you tonight and always Don. Take care.

Thanks for the welcome. I’m just going to sit back and read all I can until I get a shop up and going. Right now I will have to do all my woodworking at work.

I’m going to be doing the holiday shop (santa’s work shop) for a few of the local schools in my area ! I’m looking for ideas for fast , easy projects with little cost to make , so I can donate them for the under privileged childeren to give to their parents for the holidays (x-mas & such) . Childern of all walks of life also find joy in giving to their parents and other family members on the holidays , It gives them a sense of pride, and happyness! The school asks that I make sure that it would be something of a non-religious background to all cultures !If anyone has any plans or ideas please send them to me soon december 17th is my deadline. Thank you everyone that took the time to read this !Happy thanks giving!!!!!

Giz, I have one thing to say…Retail at Christmas. Never have your kids work retail, unless you need an extra discount on woodworking tools…!
I had a kidney transplant a couple years back and the doctors say I over did it this year by working 6 days a week there, now I am recovering! I have been sick since the week before Christmas, but, I’ll back very soon.
We have a woodworking show in Indianapolis this weekend. I am now off on vacation to specifically attend at least two of the three day event.
I have the tools tuned up and sharpened, all new sandpaper, blades and glue and believe me I am ready to make the dust fly!

Thanks for recognizing that Frankfort is the real capital of KY. I am sure that you are aware of the standing joke about the capital’s pronunciation- Is it Lewis ville or Louie ville. And the answer is neither. It is Lou a ville.

Thanks for the welcome. I’m a member of many online communities and this is the first time I’ve had so many different people actually welcome a new member. I’ve only recently discovered the site and I’ve already found it very useful for a novice woodworker. This site seems like a fantastic community and I can’t wait to join in with questions, projects and someday insight.
Thanks,
Pat
